Bronx, N.Y. – In a balanced scoring attack that saw four different players score goals, the Lehman College men's soccer team improved to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in CUNYAC play after a 5-0 shutout of CCNY in the Bronx on Wednesday.  The team has won four in-a-row and have outscored its opponents 12-1 during the winning streak.

Lehman got on the board first after a sloppy few opening minutes of action.  In the 28th minute, Randi Olea had the ball on the left side of the pitch, played the ball into the box for Omar Moro, and Moro beat the keeper inside the far post.  Less than three minutes later, the Lighting double the score on a breakaway.  Nabi Ben Bangoura played a long ball for Salh Alzubidi who found the back of the net.  The final goal of the half came in the 44th minute when Moro found Alzubidi in the top of box.  The forward scored his 8th goal of the season to make the score 3-0 at the half.

Aluyi Essosa made the score 4-0 just past the hour mark.  On a bouncing ball in the box, Essosa raced the keeper to it, beat him, and flicked it past him for the goal.  Lehman capped the scoring on the day when Michel Generoso beat the defense with a pass that found Kastriot Qerimi for a goal.  The team won 5-0.

The Lehman College men's soccer team returns to the pitch on Saturday, September 23, when they face Hunter in a CUNYAC match on the road.  The kickoff is scheduled for noon.
