Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Lightning Fall 2-1 to CCNY in Regular Season Finale


Bronx, NY - The Lehman College women's soccer lost their regular season finale 2-1 to CUNYAC rival CCNY.  With the loss the Lightning fall to 7-6-1 overall and 3-3 in conference play. The Beavers improve to 10-5:4-2.

Amy Gomez found the back of the net in the 37th minute off an assist from Susan Aracena.  Daisy Gomez tallied the equalizer nine minutes into the second half to knot the game at one.  Eight minutes later, Aracena converted a free kick for the final margin of victory.

Despite outshooting the Beavers 10-5, the loss leaves the Lightning as the fourth seed in the upcoming CUNYAC Post Season Tournament.  Lehman will face CSI in a semi-final contest next Wednesday at Brooklyn College. The Beavers will be the third third and face second seed John Jay.  

Rebecca Gritz was called upon to only make one save on the night.
