Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker, 1-0, to visiting College at Old Westbury in a non-conference match-up on Sunday at South Field. The Lightning fall to 5-7 mark, while the Panthers improve to 5-4-4.
An encounter that had both sides even on total shots 7-7 with Lehman having the advantage on target (4-3) and forcing Old Westbury's goalkeeper Mike Warren to make four clutch saves.
However, with six minutes remaining in regulation, a turnover inside the Lightning's 18 yard box gave way for the Panthers' Edens Avril to score the eventual game-winner past goalkeeper
Demiraldo Grunasi.
Lehman returns to action for a crucial CUNYAC encounter at South Field on Wednesday against visiting College of Staten Island at 5 pm.
