Bronx, NY – The Lehman College women's tennis team defeated the College of Staten Island 8-1 earlier today on the APEX Tennis Courts to improve to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in the CUNYAC.  CSI fell to 1-5:0-5.

The Lightning won two of the three doubles matches before running the table in singles.  The number one team of Lizaveta Markouskaya and Diwa Rana prevailed 8-3 and at third doubles Leslie Juanacio and Joanna Rosario won 8-0.

In four of the singles matches the Lightning did not surrender a game.  Markouskaya playing in the first hole along with Rana (fourth singles), Rosario (fifth singles) and Molineros (sixth singles) all won 6-0, 6-0.  Alane Bierman prevailed at second singles winning the third set 10-8 after the two split the first two sets. At third singles, Celine Figueroa took the first set tiebreaker 7-3 before her opponent retired.

The Lightning are back in action tomorrow as they travel to Purchase.  First serve is slated for 3:30 PM.
