Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's soccer team remain unbeaten, with 2-0-1 record this season, after topping visiting Sarah Lawrence (1-1) of Skyline Conference, 2-1, this evening at South Field.
The Lightning fell behind early in the first half when Gryphons' Kiley Ritter found the back of the net in the fifth minute after a loose ball in the penalty box and the freshman forward fired a low shot past sophomore goalkeeper

Two minutes before halftime, Gomez dished out a pass to sophomore forward
Emily Herrera, who's shot beat Gryphons' goalkeeper Madison Mertsch and gave the Lightning the lead that would remain until the final whistle. Gomez could have had her second tally of the match via a penalty kick in 47th minute of the second half, but her shot was saved by Sarah Lawrence goalkeeper Madison Mertsch.
Lehman out shot Sarah Lawrence, 10-7, but teams where leveled on hitting the target 5-5. Gritz, also made four clutch saves for the victory in goal.
The Lightning now hit the road next Monday (September 17) when they take on NJAC side – New Jersey City University at 4 pm.
