Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's basketball team first encounter of the New Year is set for this Thursday as it hosts New Jersey Athletic Conference's Kean University at 5 pm, in a non-conference affair, at The APEX Main Gym. The Lightning currently have a 1-9 overall record, while the Cougars hold a 5-7 mark.

Lehman concluded its participation at 12
th annual Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament last Saturday (December 29, 2018) as it fell 77-30 to visiting Wisconsin-Platteville in the consolation game at The APEX. Guard
Lisa Fields played all 40 minutes for the Lightning as she registered 23 points, while earning All-Tournament Team honors. Forward
Adeeba Cheema also played every minute and added four points, with five rebounds for Lehman.
Meanwhile, Kean dropped its third game in its last four as it lost 73-55 to Marymount University-Va. last Sunday (Dec. 30, 2018). The Cougars have won the previous four encounters against the Lightning.
The last meeting between the Lightning-Cougars took place on November 19, 2016 at Harwood Arena in Union, N.J. with hosts winning 92-79. Forwards
Chayenne McPherson and
Salima Sangare each saw action during that encounter two seasons ago. Sangare had eight rebounds and notched two points for the Lightning, while McPherson grabbed four rebounds.
