Staten Island, NY – The Lehman College women's tennis made it two in a row with a 9-0 shutout over host Staten Island at the CSI Tennis Center. The Lightning now stand at 6-6 while the Dolphins fall to 0-8.
The Lightning cruised in the doubles competition as duo of
Leslie Juanacio and
Joanna Rosario won their match at love playing third doubles. At first doubles,
Lizaveta Markouskaya and
Diwa Rana prevailed 8-1 while at second doubles,
Celine Figueroa and
Cien Estuye were victorious 8-3.
In singles play, the Dolphins were unable to force any of the matches to three sets. Juanacio won at love in the sixth holw. At number one Markouskaya prevailed 6-1, 6-2. Rana captured a point at second singles with a 6-0, 6-2 victory and Figueroa won in the three spot out lasting her opponent 6-1, 6-3. In the fifth hole Estuye was victorious 6-3, 6-0. In the final match of the day,
Yohara Molineros came away with 6-1, 7-5 at fourth singles.
Lehman is back at it tomorrow afternoon as they host Sarah Lawrence College at 3:30 PM on the APEX Courts.
