Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team dropped a three-set non-conference match (18-25, 14-25, 21-25) to visiting Sarah Lawrence College at The APEX Main Gym on Saturday afternoon. The Lightning fall to a 4-21 record, while the Gryphons improve to 13-14 mark.
Saturday's encounter was also "Senior Day" as
Franchesca Acevedo,
Ariana Pradieu and
Christine Tran were honored prior to the start of the match.
After losing the first set (18-25), Lehman jumped out to a 12-9 lead in the second game, however Sarah Lawrence went on a 16-2 run to take the set. In the third game, the teams were tied at 20-20 before Gryphons closed out the match with a 5-1 run for the victory.
Acevedo led the Lightning with 11 kills, while
Heder Rodriguez had 17 digs with 11 assists and
Yari Peguero added 15 digs.
Lehman, which already secured a berth into CUNYAC postseason, will close out the regular campaign on with consecutive road matches as it first travels to Montclair State University next Tuesday, before competing a tri-match at Ramapo College (with U.S. Merchant Marine Academy).
