Brooklyn, NY - The Lehman College women's volleyball team fell in straight sets (25-9, 25-6, 25-12) in the opening round of the CUNYAC women's volleyball tournament.
Franchesca Acevedo led the Lightning attack with three kills. Heder Rodriguez recorded a team high three assists and two service aces. Yari Peguero registered 14 digs.
In the opening set, the Bulldogs jumped out to an 11-3 lead before cruising to victory. Brooklyn also jumped out to a big lead in the second before easily winning the set. The third set was a little more competitive, with the score knotted at five, the Bulldogs ran off seven straight points to take control of set. Lehman was able to cut the deficit to five but could not get any closer.
The Lightning end the season with a mark of 4-25. With the victory Brooklyn (15-13) moves onto the semifinals to face second seed Baruch on Friday at Hunter College.
