Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's basketball team posted an 95-88 overtime non-conference victory against visiting Sarah Lawrence College at The APEX Main Gym on Friday. The Lightning improve to a 4-5 overall record, while the Gryphons drop to a 4-4 mark.
Lehman trailed by as many as 23 points in the first half before cutting the deficit to 20 (47-27) at the intermission after Sarah Lawrence shot 49 percent from the field which included 46 % from three point range.
Then, guard
Gian Batista scored all of his 33 points in the second and overtime to lead Lehman. Batista drained a pair of free throws with 3.7 on the clock to knot the game at 77 and force overtime.
In the extra period, Batista and back court mate
Tommy Batista combined to score all of Lehman's 18 points.
Tommy Batista added 22, while forward
Alex Hanson had a 'double-double' with 12 points and 15 rebounds.
Lehman will be back in action on December 28
th when it hosts the 14
th Annual CUNY Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament at The APEX and it will face St. Joseph's College-LI at 4 pm.
