Bronx, NY – The Lehman College women's basketball team dropped a 65-32 decision to York (2-4:1-1) in the APEX Friday night to fall to 0-7 overall and 0-2 in the CUNYAC.
The Lightning scored the first two points of the contest but York answered with a 12-0 run to take the lead. After trailing early, the Lightning battle back to tie the game at 19 before going into the locker room down two; 21-19 at halftime.
In the third quarter however it was all Cardinals as York outscored Lehman 28-3 to take command of the contest. In the fourth quarter the Cardinals kept the Lightning at bay outscoring Lehman 16-10.
Nina Gill led the Lightning with 16 points and
Eriadna Vasquez chipped in 10. The duo had five rebounds apiece.
Kyla Cabrera paced the Cardinals with 11 points and 10 rebounds recording her second double double of the season.
Lehman is back at it Sunday afternoon as they welcome St. Mary's College (MD) to the APEX for a 4 PM start.
