Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's tennis team lost its home opener, 9-0, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) in a non-conference affair on Tuesday. 
The Lightning fall to 0-2, while the Mariners go to 1-0 on the season.

Tuesday's encounter was also the first visit by USMMA to The APEX Tennis Courts since 2016.

The highlight of the match came during in the 1^st singles encounter as Lehman's Michael Forte took Mariners' Daniel Zakrevski, who posted a 9-4 overall record in 2018, to the limit dropping a heartbreaking final result of 1-6, 6-3, 10-5.

The Lightning begin CUNYAC play on Saturday when they travel to USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. to take on John Jay College at 1 pm.
