Purchase, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's tennis team fell in its season opener, 9-0, to hosts Manhattanville College in a non-conference match-up at Manhattanville Tennis Courts on Saturday.
 
The Lightning drop to 0-1, while the Valiants improve to 1-4 on the year.
 
With only one returnee in the lineup on Saturday, the transitioning roster showed future promise with several new faces as Manhattanville needed to hustle and earn each respective point, game and set.
 
Captain Michael Forte won three games during his Lehman #1 singles match, while Miguel Haboosh (#3) and Michael Herrera (#4) also earned game victories in their tennis collegiate debut.
 
The Lightning return to action on Tuesday with their home opener at The APEX Tennis Courts against United States Merchant Marine Academy at 3:30 pm.
