Queens, NY - The Lehman College softball team defeated York 16-0 to improve to 9-16:4-2. While the Cardinals are still looking for their first win (0-14:0-8).
Tiffany Adames threw all five innings for Lehman and did not surrender a hit only allowing four walks to go along with eight strike outs. Adames was also a factor at the plate collecting a hit and two runs scored.
The Lightning offense got in gear early as Lehman posted ten runs in the first inning cruising to victory.
Caitlin Vernon led Lehman with three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored.
Diamond Villegas also collected two hits with four RBIs and three runs scored.
Marina Delgado and
Maria Gilfilan also registered multi-hits. The Lightning pounded out 12 hits on the afternoon.
Lehman continues conference play tomorrow as the Lightning host Brooklyn College in a twinbill beginning at 12 PM.
