Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College baseball team wrapped up its 2019 season with twin-bill split at home against conference opponent CCNY at South Field on Monday. The Lightning end the campaign with a 11-23 record and 5-7 in CUNYAC, while the Beavers fall to 13-19 and 6-6 in conference play.
Lehman took the opener 13-8, thanks to infielder
Jeremmy Santos who went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI. Outfielder
Namir Garcia also drove in three runs while going 2-for-4 and catcher
Anthony Riley had two RBI as he went 1-for-4.
Rich Frommelt pitched a complete game and struckout five batters for the victory.
In the nightcap, the CCNY posted a come-from-behind 11-10 victory. The Lightning squandered a 9-6 lead in the top of seventh inning as the Beavers scored five runs to take an 11-9 advantage. Lehman got a run back to make it one-run game and left the base loaded, however CCNY held on for the win. Santos led the Lightning offense once again going 2-for-4 with four RBI, while infielder Henry Gonzales went 2-for-2 from the plate with a home run.
The doubleheader also bid farewell to seniors

Mark Vargas whom all played their final games wearing the Lehman uniforms.
