Bronx, NY – Lehman, playing their home opener, fell to Manhattanville 7-0 (1-3) in the Lightning's home opener.
The Valiants were pressuring the Lehman defense right from the opening whistle. They found the back of the net in the 20
th minute as Brigid Sulivan headed home a corner kick from Ashley Hayes. The Lightning were able to keep Manhattanville at bay the next 10 minutes but the Valiants responded with three more goals in the following 10 minutes and took a 4-0 lead into halftime. Manhattanville added three more goals in the second half for the final margin of victory.

Rebecca Gritz was called on to make 12 saves. For Manhattanville, Steph Shalhoub was credited with three saves and recorded her first shut out of the year.
The Lightning (0-6) return home on Sunday morning to face New Jersey City University. Kick-off against the Gothic Knights is slated for 11 AM.
