Bronx, NY – The Lehman College men's soccer team improved to 7-2:2-0 with a 3-0 shutout over the Cardinals of York (1-7:0-1) Wednesday night on the South Field.
After a scoreless first half,
Ebenezer Otoo found the back of the net in the 66
th minute, as he was the recipient of a pass from
Mubarak Ouro inside the penalty box where Otoo slipped the ball underneath the diving York goalkeeper. Otoo doubled the Lightning advantage in the 82
nd minute when he buried a shot past the Cardinal goalkeeper off an assist by
Joel Arevalo. Arevalo then sealed the outcome in the 86
th minute when he hit a blistering right foot blast from 18 yards out.
The Lightning held the statistical advantage outshooting the Cardinals 20-7 and owned an 8-1 advantage on corners. Lehman goalkeeper
Adrian Magana-Santos picked up his first complete game. He was only called upon to make one save. His counterpart Jasper McLeod recorded eight saves.
The Lightning return to action Saturday afternoon as they travel to Brooklyn (0-8:0-1) to face the Bulldogs at 2:30 PM.
