Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Lightning Fall To Gryphons

Yonkers, NY - The Lehman College women's soccer team lost a hard fought decision falling 3-1 to Sarah Lawrence (2-0).  

The Gryphons got on the board just 78 seconds into the contest when Hailey Willibey headed home a cross from Niki Dalrymple.  Sarah Lawrence doubled their advantage in the 39th minute as Dalrymple scored. The Gryphons led 2-0 at the half. In the 59th minute Willibey extended the lead to 3-0.  Six minutes from the end the Lightning got one back as Valeria Rojas-Alingue scored off an assist from Melanie Huerta.  

Lehman goalkeeper Rebecca Gritz was called on to make several great saves to keep the score close.  She ended the game with 14 saves.  

The Lightning are back in action on Wednesday night.  Lehman will host their home opener against Manhattanville.  Kick-off on the South FIeld in scheduled for 5 PM.
