Fatomata Trawalleh career-high 41 points wasn't enough as the Lehman College women's basketball team fell at home by a score of 69-59 to conference rival CCNY in its regular season finale on Tuesday evening at The APEX Main Gym. The Lightning conclude the campaign with a 1-24 record and 1-13 in CUNYAC, while the Beavers go to 3-22 mark, 3-11 in conference and secured the last berth to the postseason tournament.
The encounter also bid farewell to senior forward
Valeria Rojas Alingue as played her final game with the Lehman uniform.
After the first period ended in 13-13 deadlock, CCNY went on a 26 to 9 run in the second quarter to take a 39-22 halftime lead.
The Beavers then outscored the Lightning 19 to 11 in the third period to increase its advantage 58-33. The Lightning sparked a comeback with Trawalleh scoring 22 (of her 41) points in the fourth period to cut the lead to 10 points, however, CCNY held on for the victory.
Trawalleh also notched nine rebounds, four assists, two steals and her second career block for Lehman, while Rojas added six points with 13 boards.
