Lightning Hoopsters Stage Twin-Bill Against CSI On Friday

Bronx, N.Y. – Both Lehman College basketball teams will hosts former CUNYAC member, College of Staten Island (CSI) in a twin-bill, on Friday, at The APEX Main Gym, with the women's squads meeting at 5 pm, while the men's sides facing off at 7 pm.

The Lightning women (1-20) are coming off a 75-22 CUNYAC loss to visiting Brooklyn College on Tuesday (February 4th).  Guard Fatomata Trawalleh had eight points, while forward Valeria Rojas Alingue added a Lehman-best seven points with eight rebounds.  Also last Tuesday, the Dolphins of CSI (13-8) defeated visiting York College-NY, 52-39, at Sports & Recreation Center in Staten Island, N.Y.
 
CSI has a 69-8 head-to-head record against Lehman since 1982 and the Dolphins have won 19 of the last 20 meetings.  The previous match-up between the two sides took place last month (January 15th) with hosts Dolphins winning 98-44.  Eriadna Vasquez had 10 points and six rebounds for the Lightning.
 
The Lightning men (12-9) come into the encounter against the Dolphins (8-13) on Friday after defeating Brooklyn, 75-57, at The APEX last Tuesday.  Forward Isaiah Geathers notched 23 points and nine boards, while guard Gian Batista fell short of a 'triple-double' after scoring 16 points, with 10 assists and nine rebounds. 
 
Meanwhile CSI heads to The APEX after an 82-49 victory against visiting York-NY. 
 
The Dolphins had a 55-15 head-to-head ledger against the Lightning since 1978, which includes the last four victories.  The previous encounter between the two squads was held last month (Jan. 15th) at Sports & Recreation Center with CSI topping visiting Lehman, 69-66.  Forwards Mo Idrissou and Ocean Scott led the Lightning offense scoring 12 points each.
