Today's Alumni Spotlight highlights Sally Nnamani. A three time CUNYAC MVP, finished her career with 2,156 points and currently ranks third in the history of the conference in scoring. She led the Lightning to the college's first ever Women's Basketball Championship in 2007.
Sally is a 2009 graduate of Lehman and the is the creator of @POSTSZN_NYC , a platform to connect like minded and underserved female athletes to gain tools, network, and access female mentors to thrive in their lives after sports.
Sally is also the New York Director at PeacePlayers International, a global sport for social change organization that uses the game of basketball to unite young communities divided by conflict. Prior to her current role, she worked with PeacePlayers in Belfast, Northern Ireland for a few years before returning to NYC. While in Belfast, she played with the Phoenix Basketball Club.
She is driven by building community for a cause through sport and grounded in partnerships with diverse stakeholders. Last year, she was featured in Nike Shadow Air Force 1 Campaign paying homage to women using sport to inspire the next generation.
She continues to use her voice to advocate for girls in sports and to intentionally engage communities. She has been invited to speak on numerous panels including at Georgetown University's Advanced Integrated Marketing Sports Conference.
