Lehman College men's soccer team dispatched John Jay 3-1 in a revenge game of sorts as the Bloodhounds knock the Lightning (6-3-1:4-1) out of CUNYAC play-offs two years ago.
John Jay (3-6:2-3) was first to find goal as Justin Gharbin beat
Demiraldo Grunasi sliding it past the outstretched arms of the Lehman net minder in the 35
th minute. However, two minutes before the halftime whistle,
Mubarak Ouro, the reigning CUNYAC Player of the Week got the equalizer for Lehman off an assist from
Eduardo Victorio. Midway through the second half midfielder
Thierno Aw found the back of the net also with the assist credited to Victorio.
Christian Rodriguez added an insurance goal for the Lightning in the 79th minute off an assist senior defender
Peter Adewusi.
The Lightning held a 25-10 advantage in shots and a 9-4 advantage in corners. Gruansi was called upon to make six saves to preserve the victory.
Things don't get any easier for the Lightning as they play their fourth consecutive match on the road Saturday. Lehman will once again travel to Randall's Island to battle the Bearcats of Baruch. Kick-off is slated for 12 PM.
