Isaiah Geathers had 33 points with eight rebounds to lead the hosts Lehman College men's basketball team to a 98-84 victory against Mitchell College in a non-conference encounter on Tuesday at The APEX Main Gym. The Lightning improve to 7-1 overall ledger, while the Mariners drop to 3-7 mark.
Lehman jumped out to a 52-39 lead at halftime after shooting 68 percent from the field while hitting four of nine from three-point range.
In the second stanza, Mitchell cut the deficit to nine points (82-73) with 5:48 remaining, however the Lightning outscored the Mariners 16 to 11 to hold on to their fifth consecutive victory of the season and first at home since early 2020.
Along with Geathers, who was honored prior to the game for reaching 1,000-points plateau, Lehman had four other players scoring in double-figures against Mitchell.
Gian Batista had a 'double-double' with 29 points and 11 boards, while
Juan Fernandez notched 11 points.
Jerome Atkinson added a Lehman-best 10 points, while
Mo Idrissou also had 10 in the victory.
The 98 points is the also most scored by the Lightning since January 13, 2018 when they defeated University of Valley Forge 108-82.

th Annual Coaches vs Cancer Tournament starting on December 29th as it takes on Maritime College in their opening encounter at 6 pm ET.
