Bronx, N.Y. – After having no activity since Fall 2019, due Covid-19 Crisis around NYC and worldwide, the Lehman College women's soccer opened its 2021 campaign at home with a 6:1 loss to Sarah Lawrence College in a non-conference encounter on Saturday afternoon at South Field. The Lightning fall to 0-1 record, while the Gryphons improve to a 2-1 ledger.
Lehman got on the board first as midfielder
Melanie Huerta grabbed a lose ball just outside the 18-yard-box and fired a shot past Sarah Lawrence goalkeeper Bridgette Lee.
However, the Gryphons notched six unanswered thanks to tallies from defenders Kailee Call, Natalia Chow, midfielders Samatha Lungren, Alexis Valdes, forwards Samantha Garcia and Lynn Rech for the victory. Lightning goalkeeper

Lehman continues its home stand next Wednesday when it welcomes Purchase College in a non-conference affair at South Field with kickoff set for 5 pm ET.
