Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's soccer team fell by score of 5-1 to visiting St. Joseph's College-LI, in a non-conference encounter, on Wednesday evening at South Field. The Lightning drop to a 1-2 overall record, while the Golden Eagles improve to 3-3 mark.
St. Joseph's-LI took advantage of Lehman mistakes, outshooting them by a 5-0 margin and jumping out to a 2-0 first half lead on goals from midfielders Karina Chacon and Emily O'Mara in the eighth and 32
nd minutes, respectively.
After Golden Eagles' forward Julia Cruz made it 3-0 off a free kick tally in the 54
th minute-mark, midfielder
Melanie Siranaula got Lightning on the scoreboard with her second goal of the season off an assist from defender
Emily Herrera with 16 minutes remaining.
However, St. Joseph's-LI closed out the scoring with Chacon's second goal in 76
th minute and defender Trista Buck with 30 seconds remaining.
Lehman continues its homestand on Saturday when it takes on St. Joseph's College-NY in a non-conference game at South Field with kick off set for 12 pm ET.
