Bronx, N.Y. – For the second time in its last three games, the Lehman College women's soccer team posted a victory as it defeated visiting St. Joseph's College-NY, 3-1, in a non-conference encounter at South Field on Saturday afternoon. The Lightning improve to 2-2 record, while the Bears fall to 3-2-1 on the season.
Despite outshooting St. Joseph's-NY, 14 to 2 in the first half and forcing its goalkeeper Reem Shaban to making eight saves, Lehman only tally, in the opening 45 minutes, was on a penalty kick scored by midfielder

Micaela Canapa scored off a deflection from a Lehman free kick from top of the penalty kick for a 3-0 advantage.
St. Joseph's-NY got on the scoreboard in the 86
th minute with a tally from defender Sabrina Amadio from an assist by teammate Hayden Reis for a 3-1 final.
This is the third consecutive victory by the Lightning over the Bears and fifth in the last six head-to-head meetings.
Lehman concludes its five-game home stand at South Field with a CUNYAC encounter against CCNY on Wednesday at 4:30 pm ET.
