Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team lost a pair of non-conference encounters during a home tri-match against New Jersey City University (NJCU) and Maritime College on Saturday afternoon at The APEX Main Gym.
The Lightning (0-3) opened the triangular event dropping three straight sets (12-25, 7-25, 5-25) to visiting NJCU's Gothic Knights (8-1).
Doribel Duran Ubiera led the Lehman offense with four kills and three digs, while
Heder Rodriguez dished out five assists and
Andrea Alarcon added four digs with two services aces.
After losing 3-0 to NJCU, the Maritime Privateers (2-4) bounced back and won three straight sets against the Lightning (16-25, 11-25, 12-25) to close out the tri-match event. Alarcon paced the Lehman offense with five kills and seven digs, while
Maria Garcia hit for four kills and Rodriguez had 10 assists with eight digs.
The Lightning are back in action on Wednesday when they welcome Rutgers-Newark in a non-conference affair at the APEX Main Gym with first serve set for 7 pm ET.
