New York, NY - The Lehman College (2-8:1-3) women's basketball team dropped a conference game to the Baruch College (4-6:2-1) Bearcats 61-38.
Mojisola Shokeye and
Brianna Barnes once again led the Lightning. Shokeye scored 12 points, grabbed nine rebounds, dished out five assists and was credited with five steals. Barnes netted 10 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for her ninth double double of the season.
Kahdija Jabbi was credited with 10 rebounds.
The teams were tied at 24 after the first two quarters. The Bearcats slowly pulled away in the third quarter as they outscored the Lightning 24-7 during the period. The Lightning could not mount a comeback in the final ten minutes.
Lehman struggled shooting the ball in the second half only converting six of thirty-three attempts.
The Lightning will look to regroup before facing Hunter College on Wednesday, January 25 in the APEX.
