Bronx, N.Y. – Two goals each by forwards
Alexander Agyemang,
Ebenezer Otoo and
Mohamed Ali Sogoba paced the Lehman College men's soccer team to a 6-1 victory against visiting John Jay College in a CUNYAC encounter at South Field on Wednesday evening. The Lightning improve to 7-3-2 overall ledger and remain perfect in CUNYAC action with a 5-0 mark, while the Bloodhounds fall to 4-9 record and 3-1 in conference play.
John Jay got on the board first in 24
th minute with a goal from midfielder Brayan Alvarez; however, Ali Sogoba notched his first tally of the evening in a minute later to tie it at 1-1.
Agyemang gave Lehman the lead, 2-1, off an assist from defender
Kevin Umanzor in the 36
th minute-mark, before he added his second of the match five minutes later.
In the second stanza, Otoo came off the bench and scored in 54
th and 60
th minutes, respectively, to increase the Lightning advantage to 5-1.
Ali Sogoba closed out the hosts' offense in the 66
th minute with his second of the evening for Lehman.
The victory also extended the Lightnings' winning streak in CUNYAC regular season play to 11 games.
Lehman concludes its home stand on Saturday (October 15
th) when it welcomes Baruch College in a key conference match-up at South Field with kickoff set for 2 pm ET.
