Flushing, N.Y. - Two goals by
forward Ramatoulaye Diallo wasn't enough for the Lehman College women's soccer team as it dropped a heartbreaking 4-3 CUNYAC decision to hosts York College-NY at College Point Fields on Wednesday afternoon. The LIghtning fall to a 1-6 overall record and 0-2 in CUNYAC play, while the Cardinals improve to 1-3 mark and 1-1 in conference action.
After York-NY jumped to a 2-0 lead, forward
Laura Ramos got Lehman on the board with a tally just before halftime.
In the second stanza, Diallo tied the game (2-2) in the 48th minute-mark, before the Cardinals scored back-to-back goals to take a 4-2 advantage with with 11 minutes remaining.
Diallo, then notched her second goal of the game in the 80th minute, however York-NY held on for the victory.
The Lightning return to action on Saturday (October 15th) when they hosts Medgar Evers College in a CUNYAC encounter at South Field with kickoff set for noon.
