New York, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's basketball team won its third consecutive game, and 12 out of its last 13, after defeating hosts CCNY, 80-73, in conference encounter this evening at Nat Holman Gymnasium. The Lightning improve to a 14-2 overall ledger and 8-1 in CUNYAC, while the Beavers drop to a 6-13 record and 2-8 in conference play.
After trailing by six points (39-33) at the end of the first half, Lehman turned it up in the second stanza and went on a 32 to 24 run to take a two-point lead (65-63) with 6:22 remaining. The Lightning never trailed after that and held on for the victory. Lehman shot 52 percent from the field in the second half, while CCNY struggled hitting only 47%.
Isaiah Geathers led the way for Lehman with 28 points, while grabbing eight rebounds and four steals.
Mo Idrissou notched 18 points with nine boards for the Lightning, while
Keith Karen added 10 points.
Lehman returns to The APEX Main Gym on Wednesday for a non-conference encounter against Pratt Institute at 7 pm ET.
