Brianna Barnes and
Mojisola Shokeye scored 22 points each to lead the Lehman College women's basketball team to a 62-40 CUNYAC victory against hosts CCNY this evening at Nat Holman Gymnasium. The Lightning improve to a 3-9 overall record and 2-4 in CUNYAC action, while the Beavers fall to 0-12 mark and 0-8 in conference play.
After CCNY took a seven-point lead (17-10) into the second quarter, Lehman went on a 26 to 4 run to take a 15-point advantage (36-21) into the intermission.
The Beavers stayed in the hunt at the end of third period as they cut the deficit to 13 points (46-33), however, the Lightning closed out the final quarter with a 16 to 7 run for the victory.
Along with her points Barnes grabbed 14 rebounds to earn her 11
th 'double-double of the season.
Lehman is back in action on Wednesday when it travels to Madison, N.J. for a non-conference affair against FDU-Florham with tip-off set for 7 pm ET.
