New York, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's basketball had its season come to an end on Sunday afternoon as it lost to 52-48 to hosts Baruch College during CUNYAC Championship Quarterfinals at ARC Arena. The Lightning fall to 3-17 overall record, while the Bearcats improve to a 10-10 mark.
After trailing by five points (30-25) at the intermission, Lehman went on a 8-0 run to take a 33-30 lead at 7:39 mark of third period. However, the Bearcats when on a run of their own, 11-7, to reclaim the advantage over the Lightning, 41-40 going into the fourth quarter.
Baruch, then outscored Lehman in the final period, 11-8, to hold on for the victory and a spot into the CUNYAC Semifinals against John Jay College on Tuesday.
Mojisola Shokeye led the way for the Lightning with 17 points on Sunday, while Chinera Ortiz scored 14. Brianna Barnes notched another 'double-double' with 10 points and 14 rebounds for Lehman.
