Men’s Volleyball Drop Matches To Drew, Neumann

Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's volleyball team dropped a pair of three-set non-conference matches to visiting Drew University and Neumann University, respectively, at The APEX Main Gym on Saturday.

The Lightning (4-5) opener the triangular event with a three-set loss (16-25, 20-25, 18-25) to Drew Rangers (6-9).  Miguel Gonzalez led the way for Lehman with 13 kills, while Ray Rodriguez had eight kills and 10 digs.  Christian Agudo dished out 16 assists and grabbed nine digs.

After losing the second match to Drew, the Neumann Knights (7-8) handed the Lightning a three-set defeat (26-28, 24-26, 20-25) in the third encounter of the triangular.

With Lehman leading 20-17 late in the first set, Neumann went on a 11-6 run take the opener.  In the second game, the Lightning battled back and tied it a 21-21 before the Knights outscored the home side 5-3 to capture the set. In the third set, Lehman trailed by one point (13-12) late, before Neumann once again outscored the hosts 12-8 to claim the match.

Gonzalez once again paced the Lightning offense with 13 kills and eight digs, while Rodriguez posted a 'double-double' with 12 kills and 15 digs.  Juan Lemus added 15 digs, while Agudo had 25 assists along with six digs.

Lehman will be back in action on Tuesday as it travels to CCNY for a conference match-up set for 7 pm ET.
