Patchogue, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's volleyball team commenced its season by splitting non-conference matches on Saturday at Danzi Center after defeating Pratt Institute but lost to hosts St. Joseph's College-LI.
The Lightning (1-1) opened the tri-match losing three straight sets (8-25, 14-25, 17-25) to St. Joseph's-LI Golden Eagles (6-1).
Ray Rodriguez led the way for Lehman with five Kills and four digs, while
Miguel Gonzalez added four kills.
The Lightning bounced back and took the second match of the day in three sets (25-13, 25-5, 25-21) over Pratt Cannoneers (0-2). Rodriguez again paced the Lehman offense with 16 kills and five digs, while Gonzalez had 12 kills and
Christian Agudo dished out 32 assists along with seven digs.
The Lightning are back in action next Wednesday for their home opener at The APEX Main Gym as they take on Cannoneers in a non-conference match-up at 7 pm ET.
