Isaiah Geathers (24 points) was one of four Lehman players to tally double figures leading Lehman (17-3:10-2) to an 84-76 OT victory over John Jay (9-12:6-5). It was the first time this season that Lehman played an overtime game.
Mo Idrissou netted 20 including seven in the overtime, while
Gian Batista added 14 points and a team high 10 rebounds.
Will Feldman return to action after missing the last three weeks scoring 16 points and dishing out five assists.
The Lightning scored the first seven points of the game and built the lead up to 14 points on several occasions in the first half before the Bloodhounds trimmed the lead to nine, 40-31 at halftime. Five minutes into the second half the Bloodhounds tied it up at 44. With the game tied at 65, the Bloodhounds went a 5-0 spurt to take their biggest advantage of the contest with 1:31 to play. An Idrissou three pointer and a Batista layup once again tied the game 70 with just 14 seconds to play. John Jay had a chance to win the game at the buzzer but their effort was off the mark.
In the overtime, it was all Lehman as the Lightning outscored the Bloodhounds 14-6. Lehman found the shooters touch in the extra period converting 5-7 field goal attempts.
Lehman returns to action on Saturday as the Lightning not only welcome CUNYAC leader Baruch to the APEX but also Lehman College students with a valid ID are now able to cheer the Lightning on in person. Game time is slated for 2 PM.
