Brooklyn, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 CUNYAC encounter to hosts Brooklyn College at the Roosevelt Courts on Tuesday. The Lightning fall to 1-5 overall record and 0-3 in CUNYAC action, while the Bulldogs improve to 5-1 mark and 2-0 in conference play.
After being blanked 8-0 in the first two doubles matches (#2, #3), the Lehman #1 duo of
Steven Forte and
Ioannis Vasos fought hard against Brooklyn's #1 doubles but came up short losing 8-7 (7-5).
However, Forte and Vasos were the highlights for the Lightning in the singles competition as they each were victorious. Vasos came back from 6-0 loss in the first set of his #2 singles match to win 6-4 and then 10-5. Forte also needed stage a comeback after dropping the first set 7-6 (7-5), the Lagrangeville, N.Y. native won the second set 6-2 and then the third 10-4.
Lehman will be back in action on Friday when it greets Pratt Institute in a non-conference match at The APEX Tennis Courts with the first serve set for 4:45 pm ET.
