Lehman College (8-12:6-10) dropped both ends of a CUNYAC doubleheader to league leading Hunter (17-9:14-0) by scores of 8-0 and 5-3.
In the first game, Hunter pitcher T'ea Panagakos shut down the Lightning only surrendering one hit, a single by
Lizbeth Perez to lead off the game. The Hawks posted a run in the first and five more in the third to take a commanding lead. They added one more in the fourth and fifth inning for the final margin of victory.
In game two after three scoreless innings, the Hawks plated all five of their runs in the home half of the fourth on four hits. The Lightning bats came alive in the top of the sixth.
Doribel Duran led off the inning with a single which was followed by a single from Perez.
Dolly Diaz was credited with a sacrifice advancing both runners.
Samantha Nazar reached on an error scoring Duran.
Michelle Frias grounded out to second to score Perez and then
Kaycee Isley singled in Nazar. Isley led the Lightning attack with a pair of hits.
The Lightning are back in action on Friday afternoon. Lehman will host York in a 4 PM doubleheader as the Lightning are looking for the season sweep.
