New York, N.Y. – A split of CUNYAC Twin-Bill was obtained by the Lehman College women's volleyball team at Nat Holman Gymnasium on Saturday as it dropped a three-set (23-25, 9-25, 9-25) encounter to hosts CCNY before winning in three straight (25-17, 25-21, 25-11) over Medgar Evers College.
The Lightning (1-2; 1-1 CUNYAC) trailed by a point against home-side Beavers (4-0; 1-0 CUNYAC) before dropping a heartbreaker in the opening set. Lehman was unable to recover and fell in consecutive sets by similar score line. Outside hitter
Selena Mitchell led the way for the Lightning with four kills and nine digs.
In the nightcap, Lehman posted its first victory of the fall season against Medgar Evers (1-4; 0-2 CUNYAC). Mitchell once again paced the Lightning offense with 10 kills, while outside hitter
Andrea Alarcon added eight kills and setter
Heder Rodriguez dished out 28 assists.
Lehman is back in action on Wednesday (Sept. 14
th) when it visits Bard College in a non-conference match-up with first serve set for 7 pm ET.
