Men’s Soccer Top Old Westbury

Bronx, N.Y. – Goals by midfielder Mohammad Jagne and forward Phillip Osei gave hosts Lehman College men's soccer team its first victory of the fall season as it topped College at Old Westbury, 2-1, in a non-conference encounter on Wednesday evening at South Field.  The Lightning improve to 1-2-1 overall record, while the Panthers drop to 0-3 mark.

Old Westbury took the lead in the 13th minute-mark in its first shot attempt of the game as forward Juan Salamanca scored off an assist from teammate William Albrecht.

Four minutes later, Osei notched the equalizer for Lehman off a pass from midfielder Demetrios Argyros.

In the second half, the Lightning continued to pressure the Panthers defense as their goalkeeper James Perciballi made several key saves (posted nine overall in game) to keep the score tied.  However, Perciballi could not stop a shot by Jagne off an assist from defender Kevin Umanzor in the 78th minute for the Lehman game-winner.

The Lightning are back in action on Saturday (September 17th) when they welcome St. Joseph's University-Brooklyn in a non-conference match-up at South Field at 2 pm ET.
