Bronx, N.Y. – Despite a stellar performance by goalkeeper Ramatoulaye "Rama" Diallo's 19 saves, the Lehman College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 non-conference decision to visiting New Jersey City University (NJCU) on Monday evening at South Field. The Lightning go to a 1-5-1 overall record, while the NJCU's Gothic Knights improved to a 4-5-1.
After Lehman held NJCU scoreless for opening 41 minutes, it was forward Jess Digristina who broke the deadlock and tallied the game-winner 60 seconds later.
Diallo, who leads the CUNYAC Conference in saves (with 10 a game), had seven in the first half and then posted 12 more in the second stanza to keep the Lightning in the match despite being outshot 30 to 1.
Lehman returns to action on Saturday (October 7th) when it travels to Brooklyn College for a CUNYAC match-up set for noon.
