Frederick, Md – The Lehman College men's basketball team opened its 2023-24 campaign dropping consecutive games at the Hood College Tournament in the Volpe Athletics Center over the weekend.
The Lightning (0-2) lost the tournament opener to the hosts Hood College Blazer (1-0), 99-68, on Friday evening. Guard
Juan Fernandez led the offense for Lehman with 14 points, while forward
Kai Parris had 12 points and five rebounds.
In the consolation encounter on Saturday, the Lightning had a 37-36 halftime lead against Delaware Valley University (1-1), however the Aggies outscored Lehman 45-40 in the second stanza for the 81-77 final. Parris scored 22 points for the Lightning, while center
DeAundre Manuel added 16 points with eight boards.
Lehman continue its road swing when it travels to Patchogue, N.Y. to take on St. Joseph's University-LI, in a non-conference encounter, on Tuesday (November 14th).
