West Hartford, Conn. – Despite 'double-double' performances from forwards Ramatoulaye "Rama" Diallo (20 points, 10 rebounds) and
Mush Muniru (16 points, 11 rebounds), the Lehman College women's basketball team still lost the consolation game of the 25th Annual University of Saint Joseph's Tip-Off Tournament to St. Mary's College-Md., 74-52, on Saturday afternoon at the James A. Calhoun Gymnasium. The Lightning go to an 0-5 overall record, while the Seahawks improved to a 3-2 mark.
After Lehman stunned St. Mary's-Md, with an 18-17 lead at the conclusion of the first quarter, the Seahawks went on a 21 to 13 run in the second period to take a seven-points advantage at the intermission (38-31).
After Lehman trailed by nine by the end of the third quarter (52-43), the Seahawks outscored the Lightning 22 to 9 in the fourth period for the victory.
Along with Diallo's five assists and steals, center Myandra "Meme" Duquesnay added 10 points and seven boards to the Lehman offense.
The Lightning return to The APEX Main Gym on Tuesday (November 21st) when they welcome the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, in a non-conference affair, at 5 pm ET.
