Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team concluded its season dropping a three-set (17-25, 15-25, 22-25) non-conference match to visiting Yeshiva University at The APEX Main Gym on Thursday evening. The Lightning ended their campaign with a 3-18 overall record, while the Maccabees improved to a 2-16 mark.
Prior to Thursday's match, the Lehman athletics department honored seniors
Daria Hernandez and
Melissa Santos as they competed in their final volleyball encounter with the Lightning.
After losing the first two sets, Lehman took a 20-15 advantage late in the third. However, Yeshiva went on a 10 to 2 run to take the set and the match.
Ana Mena led the Lightning offense with six kills, 10 assists and eight digs, while Emanuel-Tyler Amariah had four kills and
Elainne Rojas Mesa hit three kills with eight digs. Hernandez and Santos also grabbed 14 and 15 digs, respectively.
