Bronx, N.Y. – Forward Ramatoulaye "Rama" Diallo hit a career-high 40 points, while completing another season 'double-double' with 11 rebounds as she led the Lehman College women's basketball team to a 69-61 victory against visiting University of Pittsburgh-Bradford during the semifinals of the annual Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament on Thursday at The APEX Main Gym. The Lightning improved to a 2-8 overall record, while the Panthers got to a 4-5 mark.
After Lehman took a 37-34 halftime lead, Pittsburgh-Bradford outscored the hosts in the third period 16-12 to take one-point advantage (50-49). However, the Lightning went on a 20 to 11 run to close out the fourth quarter for the victory.
Along with Diallo scoring, center Myandra "Meme" Duquesnay also had a 'double-double' with 19 points and 11 rebounds for Lehman.
For a second consecutive year, the Lightning will compete in the finals of Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament as they face the Hope College, which defeated Salem State, 73-57, in the other semifinal, on Friday (December 29th) at 2 pm ET. The consolation game between Salem State - Pittsburgh-Bradford scheduled for Friday at The APEX Main Gym will tip-off at noon.
