The Lightning softball team played a pair of non-conference games against York Friday afternoon and manhandled the Cardinals sweeping the twinbill by scores of 18-0 and 24-3.
Sam Nazar picked up a pair of wins for the Lightning, striking out 19 over the course of 7 innings. At the plate Nazar was 4-6 with a pair of runs batted in.Â
Lehman jumped all over York in the bottom of the first in the opener scoring 11 runs as Lehman sent 16 batters to the plate. Lehman added four more runs in the second, one in the third and two more in the fourth for the final margin of victory.
In game two, Lehman again scored often and early as the Lightning plated nine runs in the first, six in the second and 7 in the third.Â
Lizbeth Perez was 3-3 at the plate with four runs scored and four RBI.Â
Patria Sanchez was 2-2 with three walks and 5 RBI.Â
Shaina Palmares was 2-3 at the plate and was credited with three RBI.Â
Kaycee Isley was also 2-3 and knocked in 4 runs.Â
The Lightning return to action on Monday with a road trip to St. Elizabeth.Â
