New Rochelle, N.Y. – The Lehman College softball team dropped both CUNYAC encounters against hosts Baruch College on Saturday at Flowers Park. The Lightning fell to a 4-10 overall record and 0-4 in CUNYAC action, while the Bearcats go to a 10-8 mark and 4-0 in conference play.
After losing the opener 9-0, Lehman jumped out to a 1-0 lead after the first inning of the nightcap. The Bearcats scored twice in the second inning to take a 2-1 advantage; however, the Lightning tied it (2-2) in the top of third.
In the bottom of third inning, Baruch crossed the plate five times and scored four more in the fourth for the 11-2 victory.
The highlight for the Lightning in the second encounter was shortstop
Patria Sanchez as she went one-for-two and scored both team's runs.
Lehman continues CUNYAC action next Tuesday (April 18
th) when it welcomes Brooklyn College in twin-bill at South Field with first pitch set for 4 pm ET.
