Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College baseball dropped both games of the CUNYAC Twin-Bill to visiting CCNY, 12-7, 8-7, on Tuesday at South Field. The Lightning fell to a 5-19 overall record and 4-5 in CUNYAC action, while the Bears go to an 11-17 mark and 7-3 in conference play.
Lehman trailed 4-2 after three innings of action, however CCNY scored seven times in the top of the fourth and never looked back for the victory. Second baseman
Justin Nunez went three-for-three with a homer, three RBI and a run scored for the Lightning. Designated hitter
Elias Fermin also hit a home run (one-for-four) with two RBI, while right fielder
Jeremmy Santos went two-for-three with a run scored and RBI.
In the nightcap, the Beavers had an 8-4 advantage going into the bottom of the seventh inning as Lehman attempted a comeback and scored three times. However, CCNY held on for the one-run triumph. Elias once again had a home run while going two-for-four with three RBI. First baseman
Ranssel Pinedo went three-for-four with a run scored and RBI, while right fielder
Nomar Rijo scored twice as he was three-for-four with an RBI.
The Lightning are back in action at South Field on Wednesday (May 3rd) afternoon, but as the visiting team, when they take on John Jay College in a continuation CUNYAC game, from April 22nd, with Lehman trailing 7-5 in the bottom of third.
