Samantha Nazar reached two plateaus on striking out 100 batters in a campaign (200 overall in her collegiate career) as the Lehman College softball team swept a two-game CUNYAC twin-bill of visiting York College-NY, 15-0, 12-4, in regular season finale. The Lightning end the season with an 8-16 overall record and 2-8 in CUNYAC action, while the Cardinals drop to a 1-20 mark and 0-10 in conference play.
In the opener, Nazar pitched a two-hitter, struck out 12 batters for the victory on the mound for Lehman.
On offense, Nazar also went two-for-four at bat, scoring twice and drove in an RBI. Perez had a three-for-three performance from the plate with a home run, three runs scored and four RBI, while teammate
Ileana Calle drove in two runs and went two-for-two with a run scored.
Nazar came in to pitch three innings of relief in the nightcap, only just one hit and struck out nine for her second win of the day and seventh of the season. Perez once again led the Lightning offense going two-for-four with homer and three RBI.
