Purchase, N.Y. – A pair of goals by midfielder
Melanie Siranaula gave the Lehman College women's soccer team a 2-2 draw against hosts Purchase College in a non-conference encounter on Monday evening at the Purchase Soccer Field. The Lightning go to a 0-2-1 overall record, while the Panthers have a 2-1-4 mark.
Siranaula notched her first tally of the game for Lehman in the 10th minute via a penalty kick. However, forward Lindita Selmani tied it for Purchase in 22nd minute-mark, also from the 12-yard spot.
Selmani gave the Panthers the lead in the 56th minute of the second half with her second goal of the encounter. Then, 12 minutes later, Siranaula hit the equalizer for the Lightning off an assist from forward
Maria Martinez.
Goalkeeper Ramatoulaye Diallo had seven saves for Lehman in the 2-2 final.
The Lightning are back in action on Wednesday (September 20th) when they travel to Morristown, N.J. to take on Saint Elizabeth University, in a non-conference match-up, with kickoff set for 4 pm ET.
